Activities for Kids



The Children’s Area offers hands-on activities for children that highlight the elements that make up  any culture, including its Games, Arts, Sport, Homelife, and Learning.  There will be enriching opportunities for every child, including the very young child and accompaning parents, complete with a climate controlled changing station littlejourneysprovided by Aldi’s Little Journey.

From August through November, Little Journey is on the road with the ALDI Little Journey Little Ones Rest Stop, a mobile ‘pop-up’ changing and feeding station. The roaming rest stop will visit festivals, celebrations and events across the country to hand out product samples and provide a safe, clean place for event-going parents to change and feed little ones. Little Journey’s new line of baby products includes newborn diapers to training pants, wipes, wash, formula, and snacks. 



African American Cultural Alliance
Come try some puzzles and games that will help build awareness of a wide variety of cultural aspects of the African continent. The AAMCA will share stories of African American history and explore the cultural impact of slavery in Tennessee.

The Gypsy Wagon
A  local favorite, Suzi Wright celebrates the music and storytelling that have influenced so many cultures, with highlights from the Hungarian, Spanish, Romany, and others. All from her colorful wagon, that salutes the traveling heritage of many cultures around the world.

Japan-America Society of Tennessee
Play with a variety of traditional Japanese toys such as kendama (ball in a cup) and hanetsuki (Japanese badminton)

Explore this solar-powered trailer and experience the interactive exhibits and green technologies. Learn about such topics as food, water, energy, transportation, and green building.

The Music Class
Enjoy the Sing-Along tent and take a musical journey around the world while exploring an assortment of cultural instruments.

Nashville Sister Cities 
The Gaelic Amateur Athletic Association will be holding demos of Gaelic sports (hurling, rugby, etc.) as well as flag making and pin the flag on the Sister City.
